Prometheus 2 Is Now Titled As Alien: Paradise Lost
Director Ridley Scott has confirmed during an interview with HeyUGuys (while promoting The Martian) that Prometheus 2 will now be titled Alien: Paradise Lost - going against everything he has previously said about Prometheus and how it won't be a direct Alien related movie.
I guess a lot has changed since from the start of the production for the long-awaited sequel to now when Paradise Lost has a confirmed shooting date for next February, which will also see Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace reprising their roles.
Scott also gave an explanation as to why it's called Paradise Lost: "Well, because we're heading back to why and how and when the beast was invented. We'll go back into the back door of the very first Alien that I did 30 years ago."
Yesterday, in another interview with Empire, Scott revealed that there will be connections to Sigourney Weaver's character, Ripley: "In a way it is Prometheus 2. It's exactly the same story. But it was always in the works to be called that. Is Prometheus actually taking us off course from where I'm going, which is actually backing into the first Alien...I've even got connections with Ripley, but I'm not telling you what."
My only concern now that Prometheus 2 has become a sequel (or prequel) to the original franchise, is what is going to happen with Neill Blompkamp's sequel, which was to be Alien 5?
Alien: Paradise Lost will be out on 30 May 2017.
