The Last Witch Hunter - Review (4/10)
Vin Diesel is capable to light up the screen even if he's playing a broody character, like Riddick. But no amount of charisma was able to save The Last Witch Hunter.
It's as if Diesel doesn't even care. He has no sparkle at all when he's onscreen this time; which can only lead me to conclude that this director, Breck Eisner, didn't now how to make full use of Diesel.
Not only that, the pacing of the movie was horrible as I couldn't help but felt bored throughout the film. Coupled that with Diesel's lackluster performance, I was yawning multiple times.
At least Rose Leslie was a surprise, being her first big budget movie she really gave it her all. Elijah Wood and Michael Caine were both serviceable, but they were not always onscreen.
The dialogue was also quite bad, and weird, because when Wood took over Caine's character as the Dolan, and he became the new Dolan; but he's still calling Caine's character Dolan. I was so confused.
The only other good thing that I could say for the movie was the CGI, and I liked that battle in the beginning between Diesel and the Witch Queen.
This wasn't a good enough movie to be recommended but still a lot of people went out to see it on their own though. Diesel is still a good brand name.
