Thor: Ragnarok May Have Found Its Director In Taika Waititi

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe is prepping for the launch of their Phase 3, sequels to movies like Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor are getting some casting news very soon, as teased by Kevin Feige recently.

Other than getting some juicy news in casting, the next best thing would be directors helming these giant projects. And the only movie for 2017 out of the MCU that has not had any director news as of yet is Thor: Ragnarok. Until now.

According to TheWrap, Taika Waititi is currently in negotiations to sign a deal that will put him in charge of the final movie in the first Thor trilogy.

Waititi's resume includes TV's "Flight Of The Conchords" and more recently the movie What We Do In The Shadows.

Waititi is more of an indie director up to this point so it will be interesting to see him transition to a big budget, Hollywood movie - much like the Russo Brothers.

I myself have never seen his work, and the aforementioned TV series didn't interest me that much, having tried the first episode only. But by now, there's no more doubt with Marvel and Disney; and I'm very sure they are going to deliver.
