From one horror to the next, Annabelle Wallis - star of The Conjuring spin-off, Annabelle - is likely to join Universal Pictures' shared universe of monsters.
The first of a string of monster flicks will be led by the reboot of The Mummy, so far with Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella confirmed. And according to Variety, once negotiations are finalized, Wallis will play the female lead opposite Cruise.
Wallis first caught my attention in Annabelle, a barely sub-par movie made better by Wallis' screen presence and magnetism. I would love to see more of her and her addition here sounds like a good fit.
The Mummy will be directed by Alex Kurtzman and is scheduled for a 9 June 2017 release.
