Walt Disney Pictures has just released the first full trailer for The BFG, right after it has received rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival.
Lauded as Steven Spielberg returning to childlike wonders at the festival, written by Melissa Mathison who collaborated with Speilberg on The Black Stallion and E.T., and of course adapted from the book by Roald Dahl; and starring last year's Academy Award winner Mark Rylance as the big, friendly giant.
This second poster is a big improvement from the first as we get to see the giant himself in this one, and it captures beautifully the relationship with the little girl played by Ruby Barnhill.
This trailer as well shows more of the world that we will be visiting with this movie, and it looks magical and wonderful. The only criticism I have now is that the whole thing looks very CGI. Maybe it will be improved on later.
The BFG comes out on 1 July 2016, and I'm quite excited for it now.
