Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released the first trailer to the new Zhang Yimou epic, The Great Wall.
I have always loved Zhang's use of colours in his shots, and looks like this movie will continue with that style and cinematography.
At first glance I thought this movie was about the history of ancient China, perhaps another one of those "Romance Of The Three Kingdoms" type of story. And then a monster of sorts snatched a soldier off the Great Wall. So, this is going to be a sci-fi movie from Zhang. Very intriguing.
The movie is Zhang's first foray into an English production film, making it the biggest movie to ever be shot entirely in China.
Also starring, Tian Jing, Andy Lau, Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe; the movie is scheduled to be released on 17 February 2017.
