Meryl Streep To Join Emily Blunt's Mary Poppins Returns
The anticipated sequel, Mary Poppins Returns continues to expand its cast which has already confirmed Emily Blunt to playing the titular character, supported by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
According to Variety, three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep is in negotiations to join the cast as Topsy Tartlet - Mary Poppins' cousin who would marry into the Turvey name in the source material "Mary Poppins Comes Back" written by P.L. Travers.
The way this movie is shaping up, I foresee some Academy Award nominations, particularly for both Blunt and Streep in the Best Actress and Best Supporting roles.
Directed and produced by Rob Marshall, the movie is scheduled to be released on 25 December 2018.
