Paramount Pictures has released a teaser trailer a week ago for their upcoming sci-fi thriller, Arrival. Today two full trailers have dropped, one for the US market and the other for international; and they look really good.
In these trailer, we get to see more of Amy Adams' character as she attempts to interact with aliens that, at the moment, looks to be squid-like creatures, having tentacle-like appendages. The story also brings in little elements of politics, like all other Denis Villeneuve's films.
And speaking of which, yet again the cinematography here looks amazing. The tone both in style and colour are a little dark and grey, respectively; which is very inline with Villeneuve's work. The cast chosen are great and looks interesting with Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker and Michael Stuhlbarg.
I thought the international version looks far more gripping than the US one, with almost completely different footage and a better cliffhanger at the end. Although, after seeing these two, I wouldn't want to see any more trailers or it would feel like overkill.
Written by David Heisserer, adapted from a 1998 novella by Ted Chiang titled "Story Of Your Life"; Arrival will arrive on 11 November 2016.
