Doug Liman Leaves Fox's Gambit For DC's Dark Universe
More and more it seems that 20th Century Fox's Gambit is no longer happening as today we learned from Variety that the project has just lost their director once again.
Officially in development hell, and very similar to The Crow project that kept losing its leading man and director, we don't even know if Channing Tatum is still attached to Gambit too.
Director Doug Liman has actually jumped studio and into Marvel's direct competitor, DC, and boarded the Dark Universe project, which is also known as Justice League Dark.
From its namesake, Dark Universe will focus on an ensemble of superheroes that comes in a much darker tone as compared to the Justice League that Zack Snyder is assembling right now. It will be interesting to see if DC will allow this project to go rated R.
Interestingly also, Guillermo del Toro was attached to this for quite a while until he favours other projects over this. He would have been a much better fit in my opinion.
No release date has been released yet and no official report has been given by Warner Bros. Pictures.
