R.I.P. Gene Wilder
Gene Wilder was revered by not only moviegoers but also by his peers. According to The Associated Press, he has passed away today at the age of 83.
His most iconic role was probably as the titular character in Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory from 1971, as well as playing Dr. Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein from 1974.
I was not even born yet when Wilder was in his Hollywood prime, and I only have snippets of memories of seeing him onscreen, especially on TV like "Will & Grace".
His other notable movies included supporting roles in Bonnie & Clyde and The Producers, the latter of which was directed by his frequent collaborator Mel Brooks.
