[Review] Keanu (6.5/10)
I cannot tell with Keanu, whether non-"Key And Peele" fans will enjoy this brand of humour or not. But for me, who has seen all the episodes of the series, I really found this very entertaining.
Michael-Keegan Key and Jordan Peele brought the same formula of what made their series so hilarious to their characters in the movie. From their body language to their facial expressions, what makes them so great could also potentially be uninteresting to those who have never seen their series.
There were also a couple of key scenes from the trailers that looked completely boisterous but didn't deliver the perceived effect in the actual scene, like the one with Key mouthing to the song "Freedom".
The script by Peele and Alex Rubens - one of the series' frequent writers, wasn't the most original or interesting; but their intention to create comedy with each scene was obvious and on point most of the time.
Perhaps can be compared with Kevin Hart, only time will tell if these two can sustain themselves with their brand of comedy on the silver screen; or some pivoting and evolving might be needed in the near future.
