2017 Super Bowl Trailers Are Here!

The Super Bowl always attract the most number of eye balls on the screen and even though marketing costs per each second has increased this year, movie studios are not shying away from advertising there.

Check out the Super Bowl trailers below, and I have taken the liberty to rank them from best to last:

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2:

And the best trailer goes to Guradians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. With even more new footage and a new soundtrack, standing at 60 seconds long, this trailer reintroduces the Guardians while still keeping it high-octane. Great looking CGI, a new funny moment from Drax again at the end, and also the first look at Elizabeth Debicki's character.

It's also interesting that Michael Rooker's Yondu seems to have joined the line-up of the Guardians in this trailer.

Logan:

I only noticed one new shot of Caliban and probably an extended scene at the end with Logan crawling on the ground. But the background music of "Amazing Grace" is a smart one, and the emphasis that this movie is rated R will definitely inform those who still do not know.

As a trailer, it's still another great addition for the movie itself.

Ghost In The Shell:

This is almost a completely new trailer and gives a good idea of what the movie is about, with all its eccentricities. Any fan of Scarlett Johansson will definitely be checking this out.

Transformers: The Last Knight

There are two spots for this new sequel, and this is the extended version. As a trailer, it looks great. Plenty of action and explosions, but we all know the movie is going to disappoint.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales:

Nothing announces the return of Jack Sparrow like this extended Super Bowl trailer. Boasting some beautiful CGI work, the new villain by Javier Bardem and also the return of Geoffrey Rush's Captain Barbossa.

Baywatch:

Maybe it's my anticipation, maybe it's the entertainment value; but with what has come before this trailer and what this trailer is all about; I'm really enjoying this. Especially that last scene with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, it made me laugh.

John Wick: Chapter 2:

With a voice-over that emphasises that the movie is coming out on Valentine's Day, and Keanu Reeves saying, "I'm back", I would say even as short as it is, this is another effective trailer.

Life:

The new trailer that this spot is advertising for is definitely more interesting than this short version. But with such big names and recognizable faces, it should be able to do what it is intended for.

The Fate Of The Furious:

Even more crazy stunts, but the movies always are more fun than the trailers they put out, even though the trailers are already crazy.

There are a few more new scenes here showing off more of the physics-defying stunts, but all in the name of fun of course. But having seen another typical Hollywood sequel plot point of a good guy going bad before revealing the "twist", this trailer does not interest me.

A Cure For Wellness:

This is the one that surprises me. It's not an action movie, more of a R-rated psychological thriller, yet the 20th Century Fox are making a big push with this spot. Not sure if it will attract the general Super Bowl audience.

I still am not sure what this movie is about but my impression is that it is in the same vein as Shutter Island.

There are two trailers released this past weekend, and I like the second, commercial one better.

Fist Fight:

This is just an announcement more than anything as it comes with only 15 seconds. Not sure if the marketing leading up to it is good enough because this trailer does almost nothing for it.
