Masters Of The Universe Coming In 2019 But Loses Director

A more concrete news has been announced for Masters Of The Universe from Sony Pictures! Finally!

According to ComingSoon, Sony has earmarked a date for the release of the long-gestating project that has switched the hands of directors and writers quite a number of times already.

But now, a date has been set for 18 December 2019 and hopefully Sony will make this a priority.

Unfortunately, a later report from Entertainment Weekly has announced that McG, who was previously attached to direct, has left the project and no replacement has been announced.

My suspicion, however, is that Sony has already found a new director and we will get to know who very soon.

McG as the director for reintroducing us to He-Man and Eternia never sat well with me as his style is more fluff than something more serious, which is what I want. I would much rather have something like a Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings than in the same vein as Charlie's Angels.

Let's hope with the departure of McG, so too has that sense of fluff for the project.
