Here's a bit of a surprise. The Accountant is to get a sequel from Warner Bros. Pictures. Apparently the first movie has made enough profits to garner a follow-up, which I was never expecting.
And with how Batman is not moving forward, I guess Ben Affleck has more time now to pursue these smaller projects which may be more appealing to him at the moment.
According to Deadline, director Gavin O'Connor, writer Bill Dubuque, as well as Affleck and Jon Bernthal are all likely to return.
The way the original movie ended did open up possibilities for more story to tell in that universe but I just do not know if there is enough audience anticipation to warrant an actual sequel.
No release date has been announced.
