[Review] Coco (8.5/10)

Disney-Pixar has done it again. I thought I was going to be disappointed watching all those trailers which left me wondering if this was going to be worth it. But was I wrong!

People have been comparing this to The Book Of Life, which was bad, before Coco was released because the backdrop of the story was the same for both. But Pixar just took it to another whole level with the quality of storytelling.

The characters, as Pixar always does, portrayed real people to make it very relatable. And there was also a couple of messages for families and individuals to look into in their own life, no matter what stage of life you are in. And that's what I really appreciated it for.

The only problem here for me was that the messages were a little muddled after the story ended. Particularly, the one about following your dreams and go for them no matter suddenly took a backseat to another message which the creators suddenly pushed forward out of nowhere and without enough conviction.

I thought that should have been fleshed out better and not just a touch-and-go as I left the cinema a little confused and unsatisfied.

But this was another heartwarming addition to the Pixar greats as at the end the movie really tied everything up and presented them in a bow. And we will hear a particular tune three times, but it got better and more meaningful each time.
