The first trailer and poster for the political thriller Beirut has just been released by Bleeker Street.
The movie stars Jon Hamm and Rosamund Pike, who seems to can't catch a bigger break after her Academy Award nomination for Gone Girl (which I thought she should have won); instead she keeps getting into this genre type of movies.
Hamm as well has not been able to shake off comedic or family-friendly roles but this one looks like a good departure and something new. But where these two go from here will depend on how this movie actually turns out to be.
This first poster looks like it belongs back in the 1990's.
Directed by Brand Anderson, but written by a higher-caliber writer in Tony Gilroy; Beirut will be out on 13 April 2018.
