[Review] Tusk (4/10)
Tusk is two very different movies in one. The first part, a thriller-horror vibe, worked very well. The second part, when Johnny Depp showed up as a comical character, the whole thing took quite a different turn.
The comedy, albeit soft, felt forced into it even though the first half did have a bit of comedy as well - as with all Kevin Smith movies. However, the two plots of Justin Long being trapped; and Haley Joel Osment with Genesis Rodriguez trying to locate Long's character, they just did not gel well together.
And the flashback with Depp's character dragged on and on in those conversations that the whole second half lost me very quickly.
But the visual of Tusk was horrifying. I did not want to look at the screen and yet I couldn't look away. It was such a weird experience that I really could not like this whole thing as it was just so out of this world.
