[Review] The Informant (7/10)
It was really good to see Matt Damon act in this movie. This character and this world created felt like one of the idiots from the minds of the Coen Brothers.
Steven Soderbergh took us on a journey of discovering all the blunders created by Damon's character. It was like peeling an onion with layers of layers of deceit and acts self preservation, that it was really funny to watch.
The chemistry between Scott Bakula, Joel McHale and Damon were some of the best parts of the movie. Especially when the lies kept building and the disappointment persisted.
The third act, however, was not as strong as the first two. There was a turn in the character arc that I thought was perhaps too easy a way out. Because it was either for the character to go this way or the other way, and this path chosen did not really play out as well as I had hoped.
Still, this was a very enjoyable watch especially with Damon turning in a great performance here.
