This probably would have worked if it came out back in the 90's. The first act and how it was shot and paced, were so old fashioned that they became cheesy. And director Dave Wilson seemed to be trying hard to follow Michael Bay's sweeping shots.
Vin Diesel always deliver. But the movie just wasn't good. And the role for Siddharth Dhananjay, again, should not have happened today already because it's so cliche.
However, what Wilson was good at was the final fight in the third act. Coming from visual effects from video games lent some beautiful and exciting sequences that were much better than the movie itself.
