With Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim and the great Toni Collette opening the movie, and with such a brilliant premise (whether believable to be realistic or not); the first half of the movie started with so much promise.
Sure, it's nowhere near as beautifully shot as Gravity, but the premise itself was enough to keep my attention.
But then when we ended the second act, that's when everything went downhill for me because I was expecting this to go dark as it had ample of opportunity to really test the human limits. And when we saw the direction that it ended up with, it was very disappointing.
I thought Anna Kendrick was not the best choice for the role, and that Toni Colette would have been a better choice to lead the movie. The setup for Kendrick's character just wasn't enough by the director, so when it happened the way it did, it wasn't a story well told.
But on a brighter side, Shamier Anderson gave a shining performance.
