It is unthinkable and unbelievable how bad this movie could turn out to be. Just take a look at this cast. What kind of devil did Ryan Murphy had to worship in order to get a cast like this in this trainwreck?
At least the cast looked like they had a blast making this movie. None of them was to be blamed. Murphy just shot the movie as if he was still shooting one of his musical series for TV. And this came out in December, during awards season? What a joke.
And I don't believe this had good writing to begin with, either. Just seeing how the plot unfolded, there was nothing that would have looked good on paper and then to have the director butchered the whole thing.
The message of inclusion and acceptance was hammered into the audience; well, to be fair, looking at all the hate crimes in America, yea, it would have to be in the hopes of getting through.
Even though the movie tried to keep the story moving along, it felt like it was progressing by standing still. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I gave up in the middle of the second act.
And I pity the two younger cast, Ariana DeBose and Jo Ellen Pellman; they thought this would be their big break.
