It wasn't terrible. A Netflix produced rom-com could make me switch the channel, so to speak, halfway through. But this actually made me want to finish the movie.

Usually it is a big turn off when the two leads have no chemistry or just don't look the part, or just aren't good enough an actor to carry the movie. But with Nina Dobrev and, surprisingly, Jimmy O. Yang, they worked really well together. And Yang was actually the more charismatic one onscreen. There was a duet in here that was a highlight for me that really brought the two characters together.

These movies sometimes can get really cheesy, and Love Hard had a few of its own. Especially whenever we get a sweet moment and it had to follow up with a disaster moment, those disaster can look and feel quite unrealistic. But fortunately also, those disaster-type of moments didn't drag on or delve into for too long, so that the story could keep moving forward.

And the endings of rom-coms are what make or break these types of small movies. This ending brought with it a sweetness to it, while making a tribute to past rom-coms. It was delightful.
