The box office for this movie had been terrible. After watching it I can see how it is just not for everyone, and it's hard to recommend it if you are not already interested.

This movie was James Gunn unleashed, and it was his brand of weird and quirky and bloody. Plus some characters and actors he brought in just to kill off. And I have to admit, I would have loved to see the team that died, in action more. That looked like a team I could get behind as well.

While the action sequences were entertaining, the plot was still exactly the same as the first movie (but that's the whole point of Task Force X). So nothing special here, except that the end fight is with Starro.

However, what Gunn exceled in here was the little bit of relationship between Idris Elba, John Cena and Joel Kinnaman. (Even Margot Robbie was relegated to a supporting character but still with a little bit of development.) It was definitely fun to see how the characters developed between the three men I did find the turn of events somewhat refreshing and entertaining.

But at the end of the day, these weren't characters that I felt like I wanted to know more of. So when they gave some back story to a couple of the characters, I found those parts detracted the most.
