I believe if we had someone else other than Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in these roles, this could have been a better watch because the duo, while nothing wrong with their acting here, still constantly took me out of the movie. Their fame and personality didn't seem to fit into this medieval world. Still, Damon gave a very convincing performance.
But then there was Adam Driver, who can just do about anything. He was the menacing but also, when the movie was in his point of view, you couldn't help but wonder if he was innocent.
Then came Jodie Comer's point of view, and this was her best work yet; because it was here that the whole movie came together to present the conclusion.
However, the movie felt way too long in the first two acts. And there were scenes where I wanted to see that I felt would clarify the story more, especially plot points that felt important to the events; but Ridley Scott chose to omit. So there were some frustrations sprinkled here and there when watching.
The third act was where the movie truly shine. And, with the title being The Last Duel; that last duel did not disappoint. It was grimy, gritty, dirty, brutal, and what an ending to it.
