[Review] Boss Level (6.5/10)

Title - Boss Level
Production - WarParty Films, Scott Free Productions
Starring - Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson, Naomi Watts, Will Sasso, Annabelle Wallis, Selina Lo, Ken Jeong, Michelle Yeoh
Writer - Chris Borey, Eddie Borey, Joe Carnahan
Director - Joe Carnahan
Release - 5 March 2021

There was nothing new with the story itself, being one of a Groundhog Day / Edge Of Tomorrow type of a theme. But with Joe Carnahan making it his own version, the entertainment value was worth the watch.

Frank Grillo has always been good in this type of films. And it's the type of role that he shines the brightest. He looks like an action hero already, he is proficient in combat, and he can deliver humorous lines.

Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts were more of the paint-by-numbers roles that, if taken out and replaced with some other actors, would have been just fine as well.

Michelle Yeoh seems to be everywhere in the past year. She honestly did not even need to be in this movie at all as her character did not add too much to the story. Plus, Grillo did not look good with a sword.
