This was Ben Affleck at one of his best in directing. There were so many great moments conjured up onscreen from frame to frame, and it's just people talking.

One of those people who talked the most was Matt Damon. Especially during the high point of the movie where he's seated on the table as he made his case. Alex Convery's script will be nominated at next year's Oscars, and Damon's monologue would probably get him a nod too.

This movie had the best use of Jason Bateman's brand of humour. Just him saying, "We know," while Matthew Maher was stating the obvious, I still laugh now thinking about it.

This was also a great performance by Chris Tucker, in a character that I've never seen him this refrained before. Both him and Bateman, as well as Ben Affleck, may receive a Best Supporting nod.

And then, of course, there was the powerhouse that is Viola Davis. She also had a much quieter performance that was just loud as it was quiet. You could argue that there was no movie without her presence always looming in the background as the team at Nike scrambled to win her over.

And there was also another great performance that was Chris Messina. My cinema had to censor so many times as he screamed over the phone at Damon's character, and he was hilarious, crude but charming at the same time.

Just as I walked out of the movie, I was so ready to go in for a second time. There was no antagonist in this movie, just people doing their best with integrity. And it was so good that I will be watching it again.
