I thought Ari Aster indulged a little too much and was given too much free rein while editing this movie down.
It ultimately took too long in building suspense and with not much to say at the end of it, or at least to me; a little like The Lighthouse but with less intrigue or suspense.
Most of the characters here weren't exactly likeable. Florence Pugh's character had a lot of insecurities that didn't make the audience root for her, or not enough and hence, there wasn't enough reason to follow the story.
Every one else: Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper and Will Poulter kind of deserved what they got at the end so that's that.
So it's not very enjoyable, and there was not much entertainment to be had apart from a couple of gory scenes.
