Maybe it's weird to say this for a Saw movie, but I wished some of the torture pain could have looked more convincing. If I had to cut off my own leg or arm, I'm sure it's going to take more than a couple of minutes and a lot more pain on my face.

But this latest addition has been quite enjoyable. This was also the first time we saw this much of Tobin Bell acting. Not impressive but adequate. So was Shawnee Smith coming back for her fourth outing after Saw IV.

I felt that as an audience member, at least there was more at stake here. Bell's Jigsaw was made into the good guy this time and we were actually rooting for him to kill off these people (or have them kill off themselves).

But I was also left a little disappointed that the torture ideas for the group became less and less interesting after the first two. It kind of ramped up from first to second, but then the third and fourth were a few steps down. Also, it wasn't as interesting to see the victims successfully achieved what they had to do only to be beaten by the clock.

Overall, this was a fresh take as we got to see more of Bell's character in action against people who actually done him wrong.
