Silly in all the best ways possible, and you would have to get with the programme right from the start; that or this isn't the movie for you.
I was grinning from ear to ear in the entire opening sequence and well into the first act of the movie. It's over-the-top but never crosses the line of no return. And the word to use is "fun".
Matthew Vaughn has topped himself yet again in the action sequence. He always brings something fun and unique to the table. His last movie, The King's Man, Rhys Ifans brought my jaw to the ground. Here, the ice skating was the highlight. And there was also a silly, choreographed dance before that.
It's also just brilliantly weird to put Henry Cavill and John Cena together in a frame. They are so big and they fill up the entire screen, and it just works.
But Sam Rockwell was the best. He flipped a charm switch and became a leading man in a spy movie.
Bryce Dallas Howard was just alright. I have issue with this casting because she needed to be, at least, fit for this character. And there was a shot without a stunt double that just had her running into the weapons room deep in the third act, you could tell she did not look the part.
This wasn't even close to being one of Vaughn's more memorable movies. But there was a lot of fun and humour to be had that I wouldn't mind having a sequel.
