This was a throwback to the noir mystery genre that should have worked better.

Thomasin McKenzie was a delight to watch as the leading lady, the camera loves her and she gave a good performance to carry the movie on her own. But whenever Anne Hathaway came in, there was such a spark to her scenes that made everything else less interesting because her character only appeared very little throughout.

The first half of the movie crawled through what it needed to do in order to get to the good part. But then, the story was quite predictable from then on and in the end, it didn't really do much.

However, Marin Ireland came in and gave quite an outstanding performance as well in the final act.
