I don't know if this really is a close look into the culture of fighting for inheritance in Thailand, but the story was beautifully crafted and directed by Pat Boonnitipat.
And even more so, he had Putthipong Assaratanakul and Usha Seamkhum to focus his lenses on and the duo delivered one heck of a moving story.
While Seamkhum brought with her charm and likeability, Assaratanakul was the one the audience were really rooting for; and of course he came through for us in the end. This young actor is one to look out for. His facial expression could convey a lifetime of emotions that, even just recalling it now sends tears out of my tear duct.
There really was only one shot of the pair going to a bank, and that was alluding to the climax of the story in the end which we didn't even need to see another frame of, and yet the imagery appeared in our minds. This was powerful storytelling.
And with all the trials and tribulations between each family member throughout the movie, everything came to a moving and just conclusion in the end.
