Finally, an Alien sequel that went back to the roots of the first movie. And Fede Alvarez has done a great job directing this one.
All except for the line, "Get away from her, you bitch"; which I didn't find suited the scene or the moment at all. And spoken by a synthetic no less.
But I'm not taking anything away from David Jonsson's performance as a synthetic. I thought this version of a portrayal was highly difficult to achieve and Jonsson's performance was flawless.
What was truly enjoyable about this movie was that we're back in a spaceship in space, all confined in tight spaces, and with an alien onboard. Hell ensued. Face huggers and chest bursting, and humans making all sorts of mistakes.
And the intensity that Alvarez was able to bring was such a reminiscent of the original as well. This was a classic Alien movie through and through.
