This was one of the best movies of the year, one of the most whole movie from start to finish. Mikey Madison has to be the next Hollywood starlet. I just don't see any other way for her unless something really bad happens.
The movie started strong already, but the second and third act were so much more that the first act now, after the fact, was just a tad slow in its build-up. But it had to be done that way, to really have both Madison and Mark Eydelshteyn's characters to flourish.
Then the second act was where the moviemaking really got me. The physical comedy was so good and made me laugh out so loud, the last time this happened might have been Bridesmaids. But the ingenious part about this movie making was that the events that took place didn't start out as physical comedy, it just turned out that way from very realistic events. Vache Tovmasyan and Karren Karagulian were so good in act 2 that they made those scenes a grand success.
And in Sean Baker's brilliance, he brought the whole story together in just one car scene right at the end. The feels.
