[Review] The Last Showgirl (6/10)

Title - The Last Showgirl

Starring - Pamela Anderson, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Schwartzman
Writer - Kate Gersten
Director - Gia Coppola
Release - 13 December 2024

I'm glad to see Pamela Anderson getting such a big break. Everything before this didn't do her justice as an actress and it's so good to see her getting this opportunity. I hope she gets more work after this.

Having said that, this movie was just alright for me, the pacing was a bit slow with all the solo dancing in between scenes. And I would have preferred more substantial dialogue. Even getting back together the friendship between Anderson, Brenda Song and Kiernan Shipka was done as part of a short montage.

It's also good to see Billie Lourd in a more dramatic role, although dialogue wise there wasn't too much for her to do, too.

Also, Dave Bautista must have loved getting to do a role like this but I think he is still some ways away from being a really good dramatic performer though. That, or Gia Coppola still is some ways from a good director as well.
