This was an Oscar bait that was unsuccessful. But, it was very successful piece of entertainment that, I felt, educated after watching.
The script was amazing, and I'm surprised that it wasn't picked up in the award buzz. Just thinking about how to write and shoot this movie, albeit to a purely movie-goer rather than a movie-maker, amazed me; as this question kept popping up in my head with every turn of the plot.
The acting in this movie didn't shout out as award contender, though; even when there were some really good ones from peter Sarsgaard, John Magaro and Leonie Benesch.
But even more so, the situation and the actual historical account of it all captured the immediate attention much more. It felt impossible and yet it actually happened in such a high profile event.
This movie kept me mesmerized, and it felt so real as if I wasn't really watching a movie at all.
