What a let down. I didn't know it was Tsui Hark directing. Unfortunately, this director no longer interests me. Once I saw his name popped up, I hoped that it would still be good but no, this was bad.
All the CGI looked terrible. The dialogue had no substance to them, just struggled to form a coherent story that showcased the terrible CGI. Scenes that lasted no more than a minute and then stitched together, an impossibility to create anything that would be compelling.
These pretty-faced actors couldn't keep my attention. The terrible dubbing, once again, reared its ugly head. I still do not understand the Chinese movie making process of this.
I had hoped this would lead to a slew of trilogies from Jin Yong's work. But what a let down. Don't think I'll pay to watch the next instalment.
