Diminishing returns, that's what this movie is suffering from. Not just the appeal but the story itself. Some of the kids in here continued to be annoying, and Sigourney Weaver voicing the young Kiri also continued to distract.
But those negatives aside, this was still beautiful and exciting. Great action sequences with clear stakes. And that third act lasted for quite a while. Many times I thought, okay, this is the final fight. And it wasn't. And the movie went on again.
It was a little too long. But the dips in the wave was always brought to a rise, and James Cameron once again told a story that needed that three-hour runtime.
Oona Chaplin this time was a standout playing the villainous Varang.
