Yes, great performance by Jeremy Allen White; but there just wasn't a lot of story in here to tell. This story showed Bruce Springsteen struggling to get some songs to sound the way he wanted, and it really wasn't that interesting to see an artist forcing everyone around him to bend over backwards for a minor detail that in the end, didn't really do that much for the record.
And his struggles with his then-girlfriend played by Odessa Young, how he didn't want to settle down and finding all sorts of excuse to runaway - literally moved to another city - wasn't all that interesting at all.
