If you thought Keanu Reeves was just going to have a short cameo to boost the publicity of this movie, like I did, you'd be surprised.
Whether or not that was the right decision, though, I couldn't tell you. Because even with Reeves not letting Ana de Armas take the whole glory, this movie didn't make enough to be in the black.
But what it did do very cleverly, was to show that John Wick was playing at a totally different level than de Armas' Eve. Their encounter had Wick creating openings for the kill up to a total of six times (that I counted). It was a thrill to see that first opening, and it had generated gasps in the audience.
And the second thing it did very cleverly was to show Eve also using different objects around her as weapons. Her uses of grenades were particularly ingenious and action-filled.
This was a highly entertaining film that should have done better to secure a sequel.
