This has to be my favourite Jackie Chan movie in the last decade. It's easy to forget what a great dramatic actor Chan is outside of all the action flicks.
And with this character, it was all about the acting, no fight scenes. And we saw Chan bared his soul. And what a treat that was.
I really enjoyed some of the attention to detail in certain scenes. For example, when we jumped back in time during the lifting competition; the shoes used were a big detail if you knew to look for it, even if it was just one second onscreen.
But then there were a lot of other sequences like the runaway car, which felt very forced, very prolonged and unrealistic. Same goes to the drowning scene.
But that ending though, broke me. I haven't ugly cried like this since How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies.
