This was disturbingly good that it left a weird taste in my mouth after the credits started rolling.
The performances from the two main leads were better than expected, as good as what the movie needed. Particulary, Inde Navarette whose possessed character came with some really good facial expressions. Whether it was the direction given to her or her own choices made, her acting here was as good as Toni Collette's Hereditary or The Sixth Sense.
But not to be outdone, Michael Johnston was equal to the task playing the more unlikeable character who was the source of the obsession.
Plus, from a first time director in Curry Barker, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this movie turned out to be. The premise was very simple, but the execution was incredibly effective.
Navarette deserves a look in the award season.
