This was not a Predator movie. But it was a highly entertaining action movie.
The movie shifted the focus of the Yautja from a fearsome and ruthless antagonist; to a neutered, posturing, finding-himself protagonist that discovered his heart by the end of the movie.
"Yautjas hunt alone", but not anymore. Yeah, so not a Predator movie.
But as a Hollywood action flick, this served as an entertainment piece really competently. The only gripe I have was them throwing in another cutesy little pet-like critter into the mix.
There was also questionable scenes about a worm-like snake spitting acid that strangely had the most courageous, self-sacrificing move of the year.
But the way Dan Trachtenberg married the Alien franchise into the Predator franchise by throwing Weyland-Yutani's name into the mix, I thought was perfect.
(Also, if the movie had just one more time someone said the line, "You give up too easily", that would have sealed it as a new meme. And I would have been okay with it.)
